Tips for Successful Exhibiting
Wedding events are hard work and require extensive planning. Use our time-tested tips below to ensure a successful exhibit and a good return on your investment.
Pre-Event Preparations
Secure your staff, develop your booth design, establish a budget, and account for literature costs.
Plan to bring: signs, banners, hooks, merchandise, samples, portfolios, literature, business cards, pens and pencils, an appointment book, a stapler, tape and duct tape, pins, papers clips, scissors, and extension cords.
Develop a strong sales technique to qualify the bride.
Set your event goals and objectives.
Promote your participation by adding an invitation message to your voice mail, creating an advertising tag line; or including event information on you web site or correspondence.
On The Day of and During the Event
Pick up your exhibitor's packet upon check in for the showcase event.
Increase your visibility by arriving early. Do not leave before the event is over or begin tearing down your exhibit before 5:30 p.m. Early teardown demonstrates to the public that they are not as important as you are.
Create an attractive and appealing booth. Click on contests/promotions to see how you can win the ‘outstanding booth display' contest. You can win ½ off your 2007 Bridal Showcase participation fee.
Dress appropriately and display good hygiene. Do not eat at your booth.
Be assertive, outgoing and positive to build rapport with the bride. Do not talk about or talk down other exhibitors.
Use literature to enhance your product or service offerings, but make a verbal connection with the bride. Literature can be expensive and often doesn't leave the event location.
Sponsor an event promotion or door prize. Promotions can include discounts, coupons, gift certificates, or prizes. Expirations dates are helpful.
Every exhibitor is required to give at least one (1) $50 perceived value prize from your booth. The brides will be filling out a prize registration coupon at each booth. After the fashion show, the brides will return to your booth to see if they have won an individual prize from you. The Omaha Bridal Network will provide you with a drawing box to use for the day.
